White Paperbark Tree
crush & smell leaves
The lumpy bark of a White Paperbark / Mealeuca Leucadenra tree is hard to miss with its paper-like layers flaking from the trunk. Crushed leaves give ooff a sharp camphoraceous aroma resembling Eucalyptus, with whom it shares the family of Myrtaceae. The tree is one of many trees used to produce the famous Tea Tree Oil, which has formed a park of Australian aboriginal folk medicine.
